The National Drug Authority (NDA) is an autonomous body established by the National Drug Policy and Authority Act Cap 206 , Laws of Uganda (2000 Edition) to regulate human and veterinary medicines and other healthcare products. NDA's mandate is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of Human and Veterinary medicines and other healthcare products through the regulation and control of their production, importation, distribution and use. NDA is now looking for a competent person with required skills, knowledge, attitude and qualifications to fill the position of the Executive Secretary/RegistrarNational Drug Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Title. EXECUTIVE SECRETARY /REGISTRAR Reports To: The Board of Directors Key Responsibilities: • shall be the Accounting Officer and Chief Executive of the Authority • shall provide overall leadership and direction over the management and operations of the Secretariat • shall be the Secretary to the Board meetings • shall ensure the development and implementation of the Strategic / Business Plans of the Authority • shall keep custody of the seal and assets of the Authority • shall carry out such functions as the Authority may assign him/her from time to time Job requirement Key competencies for the Post:- • Foresightedness • Sound judgment and high sense of responsibility • Ability to work under tight deadlines • Proven competency in management and leadership • Excellent communication and advocacy skills Qualification: • Masters Degree in either Pharmacy or Human Medicine or Veterinary Medicine or Dental Surgery with at least a Postgraduate Diploma in Management/ Public Administration, Public Health or other relevant qualifications from recognized Institutions. Experience: A minimum of 10 years experience, with 5 years in a senior managerial position in a reputable organization. Duration of appointment:-The appointment is for a 4 year contract renewable based on performance.
